Every shoe will come in inches. If you want to know the actual size of your shoes, use these steps to find it.

Step 1: Find the length of your foot

With feet usually being an inch or two either way in terms of length, this measurement can only be taken on one foot. You should place a ruler flat on a hard area like your palm or knee and measure the distance from where you ball rests to the bottom of the heel when wearing socks or no shoes. Alternatively, you can use a piece of string that's at least 18 inches long and lay it flat against your palm for about four seconds before measuring it.

Step 2: Multiply your length by 30 to get the number of inches for your size

Multiply the number of inches from Step 1 by 30 to get the number of shoe sizes. This means you will have to do some math, so try not to have any distractions. It is good if you already have a calculator handy.

Step 3: Sizes are in whole numbers and are always rounded down the even number after the decimal place.

Step 4: Circle your size on a chart

There is a chart that most shoe makers use to make shoes and it will state where on your foot your actual size is on a scale that ranges from one to twenty-four. The chart will also tell how many inches are in two shoe sizes. For example, if you were a size 8, you would need to go to the chart and look for the line that says "8". You would then find where on your foot that number is on a scale that ranges from one to twenty-four. The number you get will be the size of your actual shoe. You can circle it at this point or wait until you have tried a few different sizes of shoes until you know your own personal size. If you have an old pair of shoes or boots, measure them with your old pair on and take a piece of string that's about 18 inches long and lay it flat against the bottom of one foot for about four seconds.
